Merrie Knox earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work in 2009 at the University of Oklahoma where she graduated summa cum laude. She is a licensed clinical social worker with 10 years experience. She has advanced training in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), a proven, research-driven model for working with couples and families who are in distress and want to increase love and connection in their relationship. Merrie is also a certified national provider of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) which treats post-traumatic stress disorder. Merrie is committed to helping clients live happy, connected and joyful lives.

Merrie is skilled at working with couples experiencing relationship distress, as well as in trauma recovery, substance abuse disorders, depression, anxiety, grief and loss. In addition to her clinical skills, Merrie has been an educator since 2010, teaching Helping Children Cope with Divorce, Cooperative Co-Parenting, and Step-family classes. She facilitates relationship groups, curriculum development and curriculum enhancement. Merrie also mentors and supervises new therapists.

Merrie lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with her husband and their German Shepherd named Tala. In her spare time, Merrie enjoys spending time with her four kids and three grandkids. Friends and colleagues say one of their favorite things about Merrie is her sense of humor; she loves to laugh. In fact, her motto is “laughter is medicine for the soul.”
